a kind word costs nothing

There’s nothing better than going through your emails on a Monday morning and discovering some kind words in the form of a testimonial. The fact that someone has taken the time out to acknowledge your efforts and thank you for your contribution, makes that ‘effort’ worthwhile. It’s such a simple thing, but what an impact it has.

This morning I received the following message and it has set me up for the week;

1.      Peter actually gets people to do something differently, and change behaviour once they have left the sessions. Too much training is just a nice fluffy day out with no real change. I have noticed genuine significant differences in our regional management teams since Peters sessions.

2.      Peter brings out the confidence in people to try new things, in a fun environment which stretches everyone. From those who relish the opportunity to lead and present, to those who find it harder, all benefitted and continue to benefit from the sessions.

3.      Peter has a way of making insight from different industries relevant  – this isn’t off the peg training, and feels relevant and bespoke even though it isn’t coming from a veterinary perspective. His handling of those who are more cynical is great fun, and generates a great environment.

The kind words were from Ben Jacklin, the Chief Operating Officer at CVS Group. They are really appreciated and it’s prompted me to share and encourage others to do the same.

Knowing how busy Ben is at the moment, running the largest integrated veterinary service provider in the UK, at this time of uncertainty and great demand on their industry, makes it even more meaningful.

The kind word, in this context, in the bigger picture, is inspiring.

Let’s all pick up a pen and show our appreciation to someone who deserves it. A kind word costs nothing and can make such a difference.
